Description

Alligators are a huge part of my environment

19th century ornithologists helped wipe them out by paying locals to bring them dead birds to stuff for collectors

They wear their emotions on their skin and sense with their whole bodies

The inspiration for this piece was the marshy grasslands with islands of palm and pine in the western Everglades

An underwater image at Devils hole at Ichetucknee River
