It is super soft cozy and light as air, on the interior I have sewn some fleece. There is absolutely no itch factor to this item. I have stitched other pieces of textiles the wool of Mongolian lamb as decorative detail as well as a beautiful vintage button closure. You can wear it with the split over your shoulder or with the points at the front like a collar under or over your coat
