R.E.M. - Fables Of The Reconstruction LP hip hop With this sonata he createdREM at their peak, when they were barely hanging by a thread (ever notice how dreams are most powerful when your sleep is restless?). It's a murky effort, blurred distinctions between real and dreamt, impressionistic and psychedelic. The rich bass drips like honey, the guitars chime and jangle, and Stipe's gorgeous baritone weaves in between.
