There are different things which couldve made this card better it shouldve just allowed players to Special Summon Dark Magician without getting rid of itself, or the spell counters shouldve offered protection of some sort

The protection in battle is incredibly useful, and even if the opponent has a Light or Aqua Monster the high Attack is usually enough to protect it

Collectors eagerly trade, buy, and sell in the hopes of obtaining the missing cards necessary to finish their sets

In the Tinker / Welder builds I am very happy to have this as it is serving many more roles than just card quality
