Purple Ghost acer japonicum Autumn Fire’s leaves turn anPurple Ghost is a very dark red reticulated Acer palmatum. The deep, bright, purple red leaves emerge in the spring which are then overlaid with black red veins, gradually fading in the summer as the whole leaf darkens. If planted in full sun, Purple Ghost will have an even deeper maroon leaf color. Purple Ghost is a medium sized tree that will grow to 10 feet planted in the natural landscape. This is a good variety for sun and heat tolerance. Once
