Seductive Peaches, Mid 19th Century Folk Art Pastel in Period Ross & Hatchman, Boston Gilded Frame atmospheric tintype Wear and roughness along topThis somehow feels to me like the Dolly Parton of 19th century pastel folk art still life drawings peaches soft and sweet and all dolled up in this scalloped edge dish, but with darker mauve ish ground lending a sense of depth and complexity, literal and metaphorical!. There is often a certain strangeness to these sorts of 19th c. pastel drawings that draws me, and this one has that quality. Under glass in original period frame, 11 3 8" x 9 7 8"
