This is an old wood--I think perhaps beech--and forged iron spokeshave

and I presume date from the 1950s or so

This piece reminds me so much of watching jellyfish at an aquarium--luminous and mesmerizing

and the wonderfully fine graphic patterns on both

The box and plates are in near perfect condition

Ice Pick with Wooden Handle handmade basket This is an old wood--II'm finding it very difficult to resist scooping up old tools with wonderfully worn wooden handles, and this is about the most beautiful I've ever seen! I believe it is an icepick, and certainly could be used as such and I must say it makes a very strong argument for the return of buying blocks of ice and chipping ice by hand. If not to be used that way, it could be kept on the desk just to be picked up now and then as it feels great to hold, and if
