just about the most beautiful painted apple I've ever seen
To me all those letters lined up in a vertical row as about it as lovely as it gets
is hard to find
to discover one doll after the next like never ending Christmas
but even nicer just to look at
James H. Adaire, Spencerian Birds and Banner, Ink and Crayon Drawing, 1905, Spring Grove PA first edition MoMA catalogue just about the most beautifulA few more today by a young J. H Adaire of Spring Grove, PA, dated 1905 I bought and sold a handful a month or two ago, then just went back to the seller to scoop up a handful more. Just my sort of drawings. This one feels like a bit of a hybrid very Spencerian in the style of the birds and banners, but with a very Pennsylvania folk art sense of color! Lovely. 9" x 5 1 2" and in good condition, with wonderful strong and bold color.
