Enveloped by a Cloud - Striking, Much Weathered Full Plate Tintype Portrait austrian ocarina with the oval shaped masking

with the oval shaped masking framing it just perfectly

maybe even as a weathervane topper

this little man feels rather as if being held captive by this chair

but the top comes all the way off

with almost all of the white paint gone from one side

Enveloped by a Cloud - Striking, Much Weathered Full Plate Tintype Portrait austrian ocarina with the oval shaped maskingThe degradation of this tintype completely makes it for me, such that this already soulful (and wonderfully freckled) looking young woman appears all the more so, like a saint or a spirit floating in between worlds. Striking and intense feeling with a terrific presence. Full plate tintype: 8 3 8" x 6". Clipped corners and degradation as evident, which I think is much of which makes her good.
