Red Stained Wooden Slide Top Box with Dovetail Corners mermaid I purchased this piece in

I purchased this piece in a very badly tarnished state—in part because I could not resist the fabulous fox head

With their varied heights running in pairs

these are made of paper and bamboo

with one spot of wear on the leather case

The set is otherwise in good overall condition

Red Stained Wooden Slide Top Box with Dovetail Corners mermaid I purchased this piece inI'm always on the hunt for good boxes, especially unfussy old wooden ones, and I've gotten pretty choosy! This is lovely vintage slide top box with dovetailed corners and a reddish stain. It opens with ease, is in great overall condition, and is stamped on the bottom Made in France. 8 3 4x5 1 8 x 3 1 2.
