Morus alba red Flowers appear in the autumnDeciduous. A stocky, broad headed, dense tree of rugged appearance. The unusual leaves can very between heart shaped and deeply lobed, in varying patterns, on the same tree. Fruits are white at first, ripening to reddish pink or nearly black, sweet and edible, though more insipid than those of Morus nigra. The tree plays a valuable and romantic role in history, having been cultivated to feed silkworms for silk production for over four thousand years.
